Information for those awaiting an Endoscopy

Elective Surgeries to start soon

Following a period of suspension, the government has announced that some elective surgeries (including endoscopies) can gradually restart from 27 April 2020. The reintroduction of elective surgery will be gradual, prioritised and subject to capacity and other constraints that may exist in each state. This news will be welcomed by those waiting on an endoscopy to confirm a diagnosis of coeliac disease. Please be mindful that due to the number of Australians that have had procedures put on hold, it is not known how long the backlog may take to clear.

Please contact your Specialist or GP with any questions about your individual procedure.
