I had no gut symptoms at all …..had a few “itchy ” patches of skin that would not go away….ever so tired and eventually one single but very large mouth ulcer on my tongue.
I was so surprised to be diagnosed as I had very little idea about the disease and no family history. Since then one of my daughters (one of identical twin daughters) has been diagnosed. She suffered from severe nausea and bloating.
And our son he missed more than half of year 10 and 11 as we failed to even click it could have been coeliac disease (thought it was anxiety) and he did have the gut symptoms.
All three children carry the gene but only one is definitely not coeliac.
